Also known as "peshtemal" from the Turkish region of Denizli, Turkish hammam towel is a flat-woven, cotton fabric that has been primarily used as a traditional cloth in Turkish hammams. The contemporary Turkish towels we use today have evolved from this centuries-old hammam tradition.
Turkish cotton is comprised of very long fibers. That results in a smoother, softer feel. Unlike terry towels which stiffen and become scratchy with washing, Turkish cotton becomes only softer. They dry quickly because it's thinner than most towels, making them perfect for the beach and pool.
Hand-loomed in Denizli, Turkey. 100% Turkish cotton. Finished with traditional hand-knotted white fringes.
